EDITH LONDON WAS A WORLD RENOWN DURHAM ARTIST. THIS IS HER SON, FRANK'S HOME & HAS A LOT OF MID CENTURY MODERN FURNITURE, ART AND POTTERY FROM HER ORIGINAL COLLECTION.THERE ARE MANY SIGNED AND NUMBERED POSTERS AS WELL AS SOME OF HER EARLY SKETCHINGS.  AS IN MOST CASES, ARTIST FAMILIES ARE COLLECTORS OF COOL AND FUN STUFF.   LOTS OF TREASURES HERE.

EDITH AND HER HUSBAND, FRITZ, ESCAPED NAZI GERMANY IN THE 1930'S AND LIVED IN FRANCE AND ENGLAND BEFORE MOVING TO THE USA.  FRITZ WAS A RENOWNED PHYSICIST AT DUKE AND WAS NOMINATED FOR THE NOBEL PRIZE IN PHYSICS.  HE DIDN'T WIN THOUGH; ALBERT EINSTEIN DID.  SOME OF THE ITEMS IN THE HOUSE BELONGED TO FRITZ.  NOTHING VANILLA ABOUT THIS SALE..
